What to do if you have a dental emergency

1. Phone between 8.30am and 9am Monday to Thursday, Friday 9.00am - 9.30am

A member of staff will be offer you an appointment that day.

To get your problem sorted quickly, it will be with the first available dentist.

2. If it is less urgent, or you want to see your own dentist, we will offer you the first available appointment, but it may be some days in the future.

Please be flexible about when you can attend.

Evenings and Friday afternoons are particularly busy.

3. Children in pain will always be given priority, we hope you understand.

4. If we can, and have the time, we will fix your problem on the spot. If it is complicated, we will carry out temporary treatment, and ask you to make a regular apponitment to have it completed.

Out of hours, or at a weekend  phone NHS 24 on 111, you may be offered an appointment at St Johns Hospital.

Child Accident?

Call the surgery as soon as possible.

We will see the child as soon as you arrive if you let us know you are on your way.

If the tooth or teeth has been knocked out, or if it has broken, store the tooth in cold milk.

Teeth that are replanted within 60 minutes have a 50% chance of survival.
